New Pathways to Employment service launches today

News

English Language Partners is excited to launch our Pathways to Employment service.

We already teach a range of English language programmes tailored for job seekers and employees.  From today, we can also support eligible job seekers from a refugee background to find work.

Rachel Elsy, Chief Executive says

Delivering the new Pathways to Employment service alongside our well-established English language programmes will add value for the communities we serve.

International evidence shows that programmes that integrate language learning and employment support achieve stronger outcomes for job seekers.

Refugee-background job seekers bring diverse skills, experience and strengths to the New Zealand workforce.  We are looking forward to partnering with employers to connect them with job seekers.

Eligible refugee-background job seekers

The Ministry of Social Development has contracted us to deliver the Pathways to Employment Service.  This means the service is only available to eligible job seekers.

We can help you find work if you are:

  • From a refugee background.
  • Aged between 18 and 64.
  • Living in a settlement location where there is a work broker.
  • Receiving a benefit from Work and Income New Zealand.
  • Available for full-time (30 hours or more) work or full-time tertiary study.
