Thank you for thinking about tutoring people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in English with English Language Partners.
1. Read all the background information on our website about volunteering as a home tutor.
2. Check the upcoming training dates at your nearest English Language Partners Centre.
3. Prepare your application materials and submit the application form online.
4. Someone from your local centre will contact you to arrange an interview.
5. Complete vetting with New Zealand Police (your centre will arrange this).
6. Start studying for the Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring with a group of new volunteers in your area.
7. As part of the Certificate Programme you’ll be matched with a learner.
8. Complete the requirements and receive an NZQA recognised Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring.
9. Continue volunteering with the learner you met during the training programme and join our community of over 800 wonderful volunteer home tutors.
