New mentor training

  • Job mentor volunteers bring knowledge of the employment field, empathy for the issues faced by new migrants and the ability to support skilled migrants in their job search in NZ.
  • The interactive training covers a range of areas including the mentoring process, cross cultural communication, goal setting and issues faced by new migrants.
  • Once trained, mentors are matched one-to-one to support a registered migrant job seeker from a non-English speaking background.
  • Mentors are trained and resourced and receive ongoing support from the Job Mentoring Service (English Language Partners Wellington)
