Learner and tutor statistics

  • English Language Partners worked with 7,948 learners
  • 6,598 adult migrants and refugees received government-funded English language tuition 
  • In addition, a further 1,350 learners (ineligible for government funding) were assisted
  • 5,746 learners were female and 2,202 were male
  • 1,342 learners were refugees or asylum seekers
  • 3,199 volunteer tutors from the community tutored a refugee or migrant
  • 1,025 new tutors were trained
  • The largest ethnic grouping represented by learners was Asian, followed by Middle Eastern, Eurpoean then African
